Rice – a love story of life

Rice is loved and used around the world. I was born in the Philippines and the rice is a staple food at every meal. It is a basic element in Japan, China, India and almost all of Asia and the islands of the Pacific (Hawaii, Indonesia, etc.). Many foods in Spain, Central and South America use rice as a main meal or accompaniment to the main dish. It is also used in the African continent. I even found its use in Germany and France.

You can create as a main dish or as a garnish that complements the main course. Are you can also create as a desert, heat or cold, with rice as main ingredient. It could be a great snack that children eat without realizing it is boring rice are enjoying. Taking into account the possibilities of rice – suddenly becomes easier to make a decision.

I love the rice and they have been eating most of my life. I have even created a blog a short time ago that allows me to share rice recipes that I created using this wonderful food source. For me it is a natural product that I can build the food all around without making the idea of rice.

Rice is a versatile food that comes in a variety of shapes and colors and is very easy to prepare. There are many ways to prepare also using different cooking implements. I found the most convenient and easiest is an electric rice cooker.

There are more than 120,000 varieties of rice. This leads to endless possibilities. Everyone is familiar with long grain white rice, they often served steaming and unadorned as garrison – but there are also rice short grain used in desserts, sushi and salty sticky rice dishes; India Basmati rice, with its distinctive aroma and flavor, which is ideal with curry; Slightly scented and ideal Thai fragrant rice with spicy dishes; and arborio – an Italian rice cooking for a luxurious and creamy risotto. There are black wild, attractive rice mixed with dramatic and white rice used for own account; and brown rice or unpolished, which has a nutty taste and chewy texture and a place for a salad. Rice is an ideal element pantry – a cool, dry place, has a long useful life. You can do a quick dinner in the mid-week, a colorful salad for a picnic, or an elegant dinner – try build a complete meal in different types of rice.
