Rice recipes are a healthy addition to any family menu

Add rice recipes to your family meal menu is a good way to add great extra nutrition without having to compromise the taste or texture. Brown rice is the ground or ground part of rice to eat most of us in its form laundered or polished. This milling or grinding eliminates the outermost layer of the kernel of rice, this is called the bran layer. This layer contains dietary fiber and many key components for good nutrition and these include magnesium, calcium, potassium and zinc. It also contains a variety of vitamins such as thiamin, niacin and B6 so that it looks as you look at it, a grain that some nutritional punch this is serious.


These rice recipes offer a slightly different flavor often described as “nutty” and when you try to first time may be surprised with the difference of traditional white rice. The texture is also a great bonus when cooking and actually you can add an extra dimension to the finished dish. I must admit that it seemed to some people that seem to apologize for these differences, yes could be a surprise the first time to try and Yes, since then, has a different taste but I can almost ensure that, if rice is included in your menu in the coming weeks he will not return to the white rice (and for your body will thank).


Starting with some simple and tasty recipes it is a good way to introduce this into the familiar menu.


Button mushrooms and rice


What is required


Rice – 1 cup (washing)


Sliced fresh button mushrooms – 450 g (16 oz)


Chopped almonds Blanched – 1 cup (very well also chopped macadamia’s work)


Butter – 3 tablespoons (low salt)


Diced pepper – half cup (you could also use red capsicum)


3 Cups water


Salt and pepper, to taste


What to do


Melt the butter in a medium-sized saucepan. Gently Sauté mushrooms and almonds until they are golden but not cooked Brown.


Add all remaining ingredients and cover the pan. Reduce the heat when the water starts to boil and cook for 45/50 minutes until rice is tender.


Serve with meat or fish dish or if you prefer as a great lunch healthy light n. I hope that you will have the opportunity to test this I hope to share more of my recipes for rice.
