White and Wild Rice PilafA  Recipe for White and Wild Rice Pilaf using sautéed onion, celery, carrots, parsley and both white and wild rice seasoned in chicken broth.

Ingredients you will need:


1 large onion, chopped

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 large carrots, chopped

2 stalks celery, sliced

3 1/2 cups  chicken broth

3/4 cup uncooked regular long-grain white rice

3/4 cup uncooked wild rice

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon tarragon

1/4 teaspoon dried thyme

1/8 teaspoon pepper


Recipe for White and Wild Rice Pilaf Cooking Directions:

Heat olive oil in a large nonstick pan over medium heat. Sauté the onion for 3 min then add the celery carrots and garlic, cook until tender. Slowly stir the broth, salt, tarragon, dried thyme, pepper and wild rice into the sauté. Bring it back to a boil. Cover and simmer at low heat for 25 minutes.

Add the white rice into the mix. Cover and simmer at low heat for 20 minutes or until rice is done, then add the parsley.
